The power and glory of first-fruits, first-lings and tithes.
In some churches, you'll find that some groups are called tithers and some are called non-tithers. What is a misconception of the word of God? Who should pay tithes who are exempt from giving tithes to God? Tithes and offerings are part of our worship of God. You cannot walk with God without understanding his voice from his word and by his Spirit indwelling you and from the sound teaching of his faithful servants. Abraham's relationship with God was full of revelation and understanding of the will of God, his all-sufficient Creator. From the beginning to the end of his life, nothing was too big or little for Abraham to give to God, as long as it was to worship and to offer unto the possessor of heaven and earth. Our relationship with God in Christ Jesus should never be short of revelation and obedience, if we are to walk in the steps of the faith of Abraham. If Abraham, the father of faith, received the revelation to release the tithes from the spoils of the battle of Melchizedek, the priest of the most-high God, and was further blessed by the priest, we should do ourselves some good to start walking by faith and in faithfulness with the ALL SUFFICIENT GOD WHO IS ABLE TO SUPPLY FOR ALL YOUR NEED ACCORDING TO HIS RICHES IN GLORY BY CHRIST JESUS.
The true riches and blessings are not in the totality of what you have, but in God's blessings on what is left over after releasing your tithes to God, who gives strength and power to his people to gain wealth, get a job, gives good health to work, etc. The blessings of God make man rich, without sorrows. It is a sorrowful thing to steal from God. It is a curse that opens the door for the devourer into any area of your life. Genesis 14; 14-29. Malachi 3; 11.
After stealing the blessings of the firstborn, Jacob ran away from the fear and threat of death from his brother, Esau. The first night of his day in exile, he received revelations and promises from God at Bethel where God connects and relates with him in relationship – I will give thee and thy seed the land you are lying; your seed shall be countless; I am with you to protect you in all the places you shall go; I will bring you back to this very land which you are sleeping tonight; I will see to it that all I have spoken to you come to pass... Genesis 28; 10-15.
All that we get as written information about the conversation between God and Jacob in his dream are the promises of blessings, enlargements, protection and assurance of divine presence.
The condition to these lasting blessings and promises was only voiced out from Jacob himself, when he awake, being carried along by the awesomeness of the divine presence, fellowship, utterances, revelations and promises given - He said, if you will do all that you've promised, you will forever be my God; I will build you a church for worship; and I will do (VOW) what you asked from me as well to recognize you as my all SUFFICIENT GOD BY GIVING YOU MY TITHES – And of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee. Genesis 28; 22.
Where was that utterance of the words, I WILL GIVE YOU ALL MY TITHES coming from the mouth of Jacob, if God had not put them in his head, mind and mouth from his dream encounters and conversations with Him?
Revelations distinguished and differentiated between a carnal Christian from a spiritual, spirit-filled believer and worshiper.
Just look into the story of Cain and Abel. As the Bible says in verse 3 of Genesis chapter 4, that in the process of time – when they became responsible for acting in personal faith - before that time, all was well and peaceful between the brothers, but when personal spiritual knowledge and revelation from God began to take its place and manifestation in the life of Abel as he offered the first lings of his flock, and of the fat thereof; bitterness, jealousy, hatred and murdered got into Cain. Genesis 4; 1-5.
First thing first - What is first-fruits and first-lings.
The first fruit is the first harvest from your plantation (IF YOU ARE A FARMER) set apart to honor and acknowledge God as the sovereign possessor of heaven and earth. Deuteronomy 15; 19. The firstling is the firstborn of your cattle, goat, beast or livestock (IF YOU ARE A CATTLE RARER) set apart to honor and acknowledge God as the sovereign possessor of heaven and earth. Deuteronomy 26; 1-10.
This is what the prophet calls the tithes in Malachi chapter 3; 8 -12.
THE TITHE IS SIMPLY THE ONE OVER THE TEN OR ONE OF THE TEN OF WHAT IS PROVIDED FOR YOU TO GIVE UNTO THE LORD IN ACKNOWLEDGMENT BEFORE HIM AS THE SOVEREIGN POSSESSOR OF HEAVEN AND EARTH WHICH SHOULD BE FIRST SEPARATED FROM THE WHOLE SUM UNTO GOD.
The Pharisees in Jesus' time paid their tithes, and if our righteousness does not exceed the righteousness of the scribes and of the Pharisees, how do we intend to enter into the kingdom of God? Matthew 5; 20. Luke 18; 12. Luke 11; 37- 41.
There are lots of demonic-inspired arguments today from the wicked hearts of unbelief and from men who are sabotaging the financial resources of the kingdom of God, arguing and disputing if a believer should pay tithes or not. Ask yourself if you’re living in a country, and you deliberately evade tax. What should be done if you are caught? Some countries cut the tax directly from your monthly salary. Why do some demand you to declare your income and pay taxes accordingly- all is the same to the end that your tax should be paid. If you try to run away from paying your taxes, and you're caught, that is punishable under the law, and you are likely to end up paying double what you are running away from; and If you don't pay tax, how does the government develop and move the country forward? When you don't give your tithes faithfully to your local church or where you are receiving daily and weekly spiritual nourishment and covering, it means you are sabotaging the financial operation of that church and ministry; you are, therefore, a cursed thief. Malachi 3; 9-10.
POWER OVER FINANCIAL OPPRESSORS AND SWALLOWERS.
Therefore thus says the Lord; I am returned to Jerusalem with mercies; my house shall be built in it, saith the Lord of hosts, and a line shall be stretched forth upon Jerusalem. Cry yet, saying, thus says the Lord of hosts; My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad; and the Lord shall yet comfort Zion and Jerusalem.
Then I lifted my eyes, and saw, and behold, four horns. And I said unto the angel that talked with me, what are these? And he answered me, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel and Jerusalem (Return unto me... Malachi 3;7).
And the Lord showed me four carpenters, then said, what are they come to do? And he spake, saying these are the horns which scattered Judah, so that no man did lift up his head; but these are come to fray them, to cast out the horns of the Gentiles, which lifted up their horn over the land of Judah to scatter it. Zachariah 1; 17-21.
The horn is the symbol of power. It can be a good or evil power, but the horns in our above text are evil horns which were drawing and scattering the people of God away from their possessions, blessings, inheritance and places of devotion.
Let me show you another horn with a different power in Deuteronomy chapter 33, verses 13-17.
The words in the whole chapter are the pro-departed prophetic blessings of Moses, the great prophet and man of God to the whole tribes of Israel. He spoke of what they shall do, become, and what shall befall them in the latter days.
Look at the revelation of the blessings of Joseph and the secret attached to it in verse 17 of Deuteronomy chapter 33, which reads thus: HIS GLORY IS LIKE THE FIRSTLING OF HIS BULLOCK, AND HIS HORNS ARE LIKE THE HORNS OF UNICORN; WITH THEM HE SHALL PUSH THE PEOPLE TOGETHER TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH; AND THEY ARE THE TEN THOUSAND OF EPHRAIM, AND THEY ARE THE THOUSANDS OF MANASSEH. HIS GLORY IS IN THE FIRSTLING, because it is like the first ling of his bullock!
What made the difference in the acceptance of Abel's offering to Cain?
AND ABEL, HE ALSO BROUGHT OF THE FIRSTLINGS OF HIS FLOCK AND OF THE FAT THEREOF. AND THE LORD HAD RESPECT UNTO ABEL AND TO HIS OFFERING; Genesis 4; 4.
If you start to walk in the revelation of tithing according to God's word, the God of your glory and the lifter up of your head shall deliver you from all the power of financial oppressor and swallower which have been pressing you down, so that you cannot lift up your head. Psalm 3: 4 - In thy favor, our horn shall be exalted. Psalms 89; 17. But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of a unicorn; I shall be anointed with fresh oil....... Psalms 92; 10-15 . He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever; his horn shall be exalted with honor. Psalms 112; 9.
The horn here symbolizes financial power, blessings, glory and indestructible testimonies. When the Lord rebukes the devourer for your sake, nations shall call you blessed, and you become a delightsome land. Malachi 3; 11-12.
In Zachariah chapter 5, verses 1-9, we have some interesting revelations the Lord is giving us now to escape the spirit of monetary idolatry and the inefficiency of Christ.
Verses 3-4 show us believers who are operating under the curse of devourers, stealing from God by not paying their tithes or stealing and cheating people around in one way or the other or an accomplice to a thief. Proverbs 29;24. Jeremiah 17;11. Malachi 3; 9.
Verse 6 speaks of an ephah, which is a basket or measuring container, and you can imagine Jesus standing and looking at the offering basket in the temple, comparing what every man and woman are putting in the basket of God and in the end commended the widow's mite – which was the smallest to the natural eyes but the best in divine sight; Take this to heart, no matter how insignificant your tithe is, if it is the one over ten, it is the best before the all-seeing eyes of God, and it should first be given. No matter how great your contribution looks like before the clergy, if it is not the tithes, it is deceit and wickedness in the sight of God. Isaiah 57; 12. Luke 21; 1-4.
Verse 7-8 speak of the talent of lead - lead is the symbol of insignificant giving comparable to God's standard of giving, according to the measure of your blessings; for we can't give the same way, because we are not blessed in the same measure or manner. Lead represents deceit and wickedness, when you bring that which is torn, lame and sick as an offering before the Lord - these are corruptible offerings (Cain's type) which shall not be acceptable unto the great King. Malachi 1; 13-14.
You must prove God's faithfulness to his word with your tithes consistently for at least a year (under normal circumstances, any good seed which abides on good soil for a whole year must bring forth fruit) by not allowing financial burdens, problems and cares to weigh you down and turn you to an unbeliever, a thief and a cursed because of non-tithing. Malachi 3;10.
Verse 9 speaks of two women with wind in their wings, like the wings of a stork; and they lifted up the ephah (the basket or measuring container) between the earth and heaven.
The stork is an unclean bird, which means these women are an evil spirit or entity which represented Satan in churches, to report on the activities of deceivers who are not paying their tithes to the second heaven, to program devourers behind them. Leviticus 11; verses 13, 19. The wisdom of wise banking - every banking system or organization has different percentages of loans and fixes or saves interest – God or Satan's economic system makes no difference.
In Genesis 47: 23-24, the scriptures read: And Joseph said unto the people, Behold, I have bought you this day and your land for Pharaoh; lo, here is seed for you, and you shall sow in the land. And it shall come to pass in the increase that ye shall give the fifth part unto Pharaoh, and four parts shall be your own, for the seed of the field, and for your food, and for them of your households, and for food for your little ones. You should know that Egypt and Pharaoh in the realm of the spirit represent the world and Satan.
Under the system of satanic banking, anyone who does not pay his/her tithes loses the fifth part of his possessions to the enemy through his various agents of devourer. This is the heavy yoke and burden of Satan in contrast to the King of Kings and his kingdom, whose yoke is easy and His burden light. God requires one part from us and the remaining ninth part for our food and for those of our households, and for food for our little ones, bills, etc.
If it is too much to bring the substance of your first-fruit and first-ling to the church, you can sell them and convert them to cash and take the whole money into the place of worship as your tithes.
Whenever we fail to give our tithes, it is expected of us to restore them back to the fifth part - if a man will at all redeem ought of his tithes, he shall add thereto the fifth part thereof. Leviticus 27; 30-31. Notice, Satan takes the fifth part as an interest from his own, but God employs the fifth part as an interest to be paid back for using his tithes.
All tithes are expected of all which comes into our hands and accounts. This is the only way that God's house will be spread through prosperity. We can't fail in life and in eternity if we imbibe this divine system of banking.
We should at least wait for a year to see God re-structuring, acting and putting things right in our lives one after the other, if we have chosen to come back unto him through his ordinances of tithing. Malachi 3; 7.
In every deal with God, big or small, faithfulness should be our watchdog, for he that is faithful in little things, shall be promoted over big things. NOW is the time to come back to God for a better relationship. No man can rob God. Malachi 3; 7.
