Then the men of the city said unto Joash, bring out thy son, that he may die: because he hath cast down the altar of Baal, and because he hath cut down the grove that was by it. And Joash said unto all that stood against him, Will ye plead for Baal? will ye save him? he that will plead for him, let him be put to death whilst it is yet morning: if he be a god, let him plead for himself, because one hath cast down his altar. Therefore on that day he called him Jerubbaal, saying, Let Baal plead against him, because he hath thrown down his altar. Judges 6:30-32.
The text of the scripture before us tells of the story of Gideon who was commanded by God to throw down the altar of Baal of his father's house, and cut down the grove that is by it: and to offer bullock upon the altar he was commanded to build by it unto the Lord God of Israel. The people of the city found out that this was Gideon’s handy work and they sought after to kill him, but his father objected in protest against Baal, if truly is a living god, should plead and advocate for his own cause to kill the man who has pulled down his altar, instead of the people killing someone in the name of God. Note: God is capable, not only to exalt his name among the nations and to make known of his great power, but will defend and preserve his faithful servants who are steadfast in his word like Daniel thrown into the dens of lion because he will not stop to pray unto his God against the decree of the king, but was not hurt by the lions, and Shadrack, Messach and Abednego who were thrown into the lake of fire because they refused to bow before the golden image made to be worshiped by the king, not not a single hair from their head was burnt. God is able to defend himself, avenge himself of his adversaries (Isaiah 1:24), and supernaturally advocate for the safety and deliverance of his children from any danger – for he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. Psalms 91:11-14.
If a believer will not break the edge (Ecclesiastes 10:8), there is no limit for God to secure the safety, deliverance, salvation, victory and preservation of his saints on earth; we know that everyone who has been born of God does not keep on sinning, but he who was born of God protects himself, and the evil one does not touch him. 1 John 5:18.

Isaiah 51: 22-23.
Satan, world, rebellious armies of the fallen angels or man cannot destroy the works and eternal counsels and purposes of God concerning man and the works of his hands made from the beginning to the end. The counsel of God shall stand, and the thoughts of his heart towards all generation. He will defend the cause of his people, that he might accomplish and perfect everything concerning them: the Lord of hosts hath sworn, saying, surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand. Psalms 33:11. Isaiah 14:28.

Was David not preseved by God whereever he went, even unto the garisson of the Philistines his great rivals and sworn enemies? Whenever you are emotionally drawn by the flesh to react to your detractor because you would not allow God to speak for you and set things in order for your advantage, you will have to suffer the loss of our own justice and victory, by not allowing him to defend, speak and fight for you (Isaiah 36:21): they also that seek after my life lay snares for me: and they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and imagine deceits all the day long. But I, as a deaf man, heard not; and I was as a dumb man that openeth not his mouth. Thus I was as a man that heareth not, and in whose mouth are no reproofs. Psalms 38:12-14.

For I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the house of servants; and I sent before thee Moses, Aaron, and Miriam. And they slew the kings of Midian, beside the rest of them that were slain; namely, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, five kings of Midian: Balaam also the son of Beor they slew with the sword. And the children of Israel took all the women of Midian captives, and their little ones, and took the spoil of all their cattle, and all their flocks, and all their goods. And they burnt all their cities wherein they dwelt, and all their goodly castles, with fire. And they took all the spoil, and all the prey, both of men and of beasts. And they brought the captives, and the prey, and the spoil, unto Moses, and Eleazar the priest, and unto the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the camp at the plains of Moab, which are by Jordan near Jericho. And Moses, and Eleazar the priest, and all the princes of the congregation, went forth to meet them without the camp. And Moses was wroth with the officers of the host, with the captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, which came from the battle. And Moses said unto them, Have ye saved all the women alive? Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the Lord in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the Lord. Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves. Numbers 7: 7-18.
