The believer's facilitator in all the will of God

Nimes 1 — 7 — 21

Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, salutes you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God. Colossians 4:12.

Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Heb. 4:14 – 16.

It is obvious that the set up of things with the segments of different activities in the palace of the Most High in heaven has been of old, even from everlasting. There is God’s supreme throne as well as other thrones in heaven, including the throne of grace. The throne of grace is where mercy is pronounced and obtained. Grace is a mystery which understanding can only be comprehended by the revelation of the spirit of grace because of its many functionalities and high risks if it’s been received in vain – fallen from it – despised it — removed from it if any man’s name which was once written in the book of life is erased from it by Christ. Rev.3:5.

Christ came into the world with abundance of grace and truth, meaning that grace is a messenger alongside truth – to assist truth. Without grace, the works of truth shall not be accomplished, and the will and purposes of God shall not be done on earth in a man’s life. Grace is the facilitator, even as Christ, who was hundred percent like you and me in the days of his flesh was assisted by it in all the things he did on earth toward God and man unto death.

Grace is indispensable in our walk with God (lifestyles) and in our work for him (stewardship): where the fullness of grace is lacking in any of these two can be a catastrophic failure as far as heaven or eternal life is concerned. Mt.7:21 – 23.

Some believers continue to live by thinking (mindset) and excusing themselves that as long as we are in this body of sin, it is impossible to fulfill all the will of God (that he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear, in holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life — knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.. Luke 1:74 – 75. Rom.6:6) whereby are breaking the scripture which commands us to be renewed in the spirit of our minds, and that we put on the new man ‚which after God is created in righteousness and in true holiness. Eph. 4:24.

Jesus took upon our nature of flesh and blood to fulfill all righteousness and the will of God in his body without sin, so that by his death and endless life as our faithful high priest who has gone into the heaven to appear in the presence of God for us, we can receive immediate grace to help us in time of spiritual or whatever need to meet up with our challenges and struggles to overcome sin whenever we call upon him on this particular subject.1Cor.10:13.

In the previous article (the faithfulness of God in the continuance process of the sanctification of his saints) I explained from the scriptures that whatever God made Christ to become unto us (but of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption. 1 Cor.1:30) is designed to be lived out by us, and it shall be imputed unto us as righteousness, sanctification or holiness, wisdom, redemption if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; who was delivered for our offenses, but was raised for our justification. Rom.4:24 – 25.

Is God not to us a very present help in time of trouble? Psa.46:1. The damnable problem and foolishness of self-deceived brethren among us is that they are hardened by the deceitfulness of sin and chosen to be playing the game of confession and forgiveness of sin than to approach the throne of grace beforehand for help and grace for a way out of their sin. These are the sinners of God’s people (Amos.9:10), the sinners in Zion (Isaiah 33:14) the children with no understanding who are wise to do evil, sowing continually to the flesh in hope to reap incorruption. Jeremiah 4:24.

There are different facets of grace according to the scripture, but I will only focus on the facilitator grace in this article. Facilitator grace is not given unless we ask for it in prayer provided we see the need or necessity for it. Should the situation arise and we seek for help in prayer, there is what I will call as an s.o.s facilitator grace from the throne of grace to meet up with the demands and requirements of God under any given circumstance without fail or falter, just as Christ was tempted in all points in the days of his flesh without sin. Is God not the God of all grace? 1 Pet.5:10. This particular grace is different from other graces such as the grace of ministerial gifts (Eph.4:7) or the grace of spiritual gifts (Rom.12:6) or the grace of spiritual labor of love (1 Cor.15:10) or the grace of salvation. Eph.2:8 – 9.

Apostle Paul never knew that there was such a grace available to facilitate peace and tranquility in his situation in the thorn of his flesh when he prayed three times before God to remove the thorn from him; but the Lord answered by showing him the facilitator grace to help him bear up or to cope with his affliction or suffering in the flesh which is according to the wisdom and will of God to keep him humble against pride and from the destruction of it. It was by this facilitator grace that he was able to rejoice and take pleasure in his infirmities, necessities and reproaches and weaknesses, so in exchange, that the power of God may rest upon him. 2 Cor.12:10.

In the days of adversity, men of unprepared heart in the kingdom are venerable to fall and sin, and altogether put the blame on their unfavorable and difficult situation as if they don’t have any option than to sin. Job.23.10 – 12. But, there is a facilitator grace to make one spiritually staunch (loyal, faithful and committed in attitude), not to ever think of backsliding or shipwreck faith but to submit in obedience to God under any situation: but if we don’t ask for this particular grace in time of need for spiritual, mental and moral support and sustenance, we may fail of the grace and purposes of God. Apostle Paul will go on later to say that ‘I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: everywhere and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me’. This is the work and power of the facilitator grace, to make you a true yoke bearer in the kingdom. Phil. 4:12 – 13. Phil.4:3.

Whatever the disciplinary measure sent from God to purge and prune us through different ways of chastening that we might be partakers of his holiness without which no man shall see him (Hebrews 12:10), grace is available by asking that we may be able to stay put (abide in the will of God) and to weather us through situations and circumstances without faltering to see us through thick and thin of life because of the love of God which is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit until we cross over our Jordan.

ccording to many is an unmerited favor shown and received by the mercy of God to make us his own – which was right. This grace of salvation according to many does not depend on you, neither on what you do right or wrong because you are not saved by your good works, anyway you’ll surely be admitted to heaven: this is a damnable error of defiled men of perverse minds against the call to obediently work out your salvation with fear and trembling. Note: those who will not live by the truth and for the truth at the expense of grace makes God a liar and there is no truth in them, neither are they in the true grace of God.

Grace facilitates the application of truth and not to compromise or excuse truth for whatever reason because (a) nothing can be done against the truth, but for the truth: (b) grace, truth and righteousness are inseparable – our God is a God of truth without iniquity. There is no grace to rebel against the light in our walk with God, but grace is available unto us to accommodate, to adapt, and to fit in with the will of God – to comply with the word by its eternal standard. Facilitator grace is the pure, timely and perfect gift from heaven sent to help you to overcome your besetting and secret sins if you will ask for help — O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles. Psa.43.3.

We are called upon to serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear because our God is a consuming fire (Hebrews 12:28 – 29): should you continue to live like the people of the world who have their understanding darkened because of the blindness of their minds, through the ignorance that is in them and be justified before God? Eph.4:18. Has God not promised to judge his people who have done despite unto the spirit of grace, and have trodden underfoot the Son of God, and have counted the blood of the covenant that sanctified them an unholy thing? Surely, the Lord shall judge his people. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Heb.10:29 – 31.

For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. John 1:17. Grace and truth came by Christ, meaning, for every pure word of God which is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works, there is a facilitator grace of God appropriate to keep us in the pathway of obedience if we are willing to draw strength and help from the throne of mercy and grace for our subjection to the gospel of Christ in the application of the word of God for the accomplishments of God’s desired purpose the word is sent forth. God’s commandments are not grievous (1 John 5:3): whatsoever his word instructs us to do or not to do: to become in the world, or not to become, there is a proportional grace to abide in the love and will of God – and hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that says, I know him, and keeps not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keeps his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. 1 John 2:3 – 5.

The facilitator grace is to make the truth applicable in our lives – to give us immediate victory over sin. Those who will not avail themselves of the means of grace to have power and dominion over sin (knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. Rom.6: 6 &14) have testified by their works that they are of the devil as Christ says, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. John 8:44.

Note: if we are not living to fulfill the scriptures to the glory and praises of God’s name (for your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil. Rom.16:19): the word shall be fulfilled against as us as a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed because the scriptures cannot be broken. 1 Pet.2:8.

Believers are called as the objects of God’s mercy because of the grace that saved us (Rom 9:23), good to say that one grace leads the way to another grace as it is written that of the fullness of Christ have we all received grace upon grace. John.1:16. Whatsoever sin we are not overcoming, and whatsoever we are not doing according to the will of God is because we are not willing to obey – not willing to receive facilitator grace to fulfill the word of God.

At Gethsemane, because of the weakness of the flesh, Christ was not willing to face the painful death on the tree until he prayed for help that the will of God should be done (for though he was crucified through weakness, yet he lives by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you. 2 Cor.13:4) as the scripture reveals the power of the facilitator grace which was sent to help the Lord in time of need to die on the cross, for an angel appeared from heaven and strengthened him, so that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. Hebrews 2:9.

When you know the will of God like apostle Pau did that death is waiting for you in your next city or country of your assignment for God, but you are willing to face the death for the Lord’s sake, this is the work of the facilitator grace. Acts 21:11 – 14.

If there is the time of a great need in the history of the church, it is this end time or the last days we are in. To keep your first love with increasing fire burning on the altar of your life requires the supply of the facilitator grace. To be steadfast, faithful to the word of God, and unmovable, always abounding in the works of the Lord in the time when iniquity is increasing in the world and in the church, when the love of many wax cold: when brother is betraying one another in the Lord, and believers shall be hated by all men for the Lord’s sake, you must invoke your right from the throne of grace to receive facilitator grace to stand up for Jesus, just as some of the faithful brethren of old had trial of cruel mocking and scourging, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: they were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; of whom the world was not worthy: they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth. Heb.11:36 – 38.

Whatever cost you have to count, and whatever trials and difficulties you have to endure, and whatever sacrifice you have to make or things to forsake for the Lord’s sake, the facilitator grace will help you to get them done if you will ask for the supply in prayer. When I newly got born again, I found it extremely difficult to separate from certain friends in the world, being guilty of unequally yoked. Their influence in those days was so powerful over me until I pray for power to overcome unequally yoked and sinners’ friend, having received boldness to insist that if they will not follow me to the church, I will also discontinue my association with them – we peacefully parted ways.

Be not conformed to the world – love not the world, neither the things which are in the world — friendship with the world is enmity against God – keep yourself unspotted from the world – come out of the world, and be ye separate – strive to enter in through the straight gate – if a man strive for mastery, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully – without holiness no man shall see God – blessed are the pure in heart, they shall see God….all of these things require the help of the facilitator grace. Whatever is lacking in your faith (prayerlessness, declining soul winner’s work of evangelism, lack of appetite or desire for personal bible reading and study etc) you can obtain help from the facilitator grace if you so wishes to fulfill the will and word of God in your life. Whatever seems difficult to do in order to walk and to please God, grace is available to facilitate your walk and to make it acceptable before him.
